Christmas is just around the corner! It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again. I’ve started thinking through the list of gifts our family will give this Christmas. Maybe I can help you out with your list. Craft and Bake Sale

The Southeastern Craft and Bake Sale was lots of fun. I enjoyed meeting new folks from my community and talking with them about ways to play and teach their children. I enjoy watching children’s eyes light up with the marbles fly down MarbleWorks and get creative with the Main Street Playhouse.  

EZ Blocks is one of my favorite products new this fall. They are a set of 25 blocks that shake and are a little bit weighed. This makes stacking fun and easy. There is a small ring on the top of each one that fits into an indention on the bottom of the blocks. This allows children to easily stack them up, but quickly knock them down too. I like that they don’t stick together. Even my 10 month old enjoys playing with them. What’s more is they come in their own bucket with a lid. It was the first toy my 2.5 year old immediately cleaned up. She knew exactly where they were suppose to go, in their bucket. It’s the simple things that bring her Mommy joy!

Though it is exciting for me to educate families, success as a Discovery Toys Educational Consultant is based on sales. I advertise the general Discovery Toys link because it is easier for my customers to view the products.  However, ordering via the Discovery Toys website will not give you the same personal service I can offer and will help only one person in your state maintain her business, not your local consultant.  So I encourage you to support your Discovery Toys Educational Consultant by purchasing products directly from her and not the generic Discovery Toys website.

Fall is the time for great craft shows! I love meeting new folks while showing off the new Discovery Toys and what better venue than a craft show? I am excited my sister can join me at the shows and demo a little Tupperware while she’s there. Come out and mingle with the community at one of these events. I’d like to highlight some of our family favorites.

Roll and Play: My little girl was 18 months old when we got this. She loves to flip through the stack of 48 cards and follow the simple directions (via a picture). She likes to make a silly face and blow bubbles the best. It’s helped her with color recognition and learn everyday tasks like brushing her teeth. You can also make your own cards to teach more skills and activities as your child masters the stack that comes with this. The 6″ soft cube is great for other creative games as well. Hammer Away!: My sweet girl was about 16 months old when we received this and has loved it as well. This is a kid magnet during demos. What child doesn’t love to use a hammer and play with balls? Great for color recognition, hand-eye coordination and getting extra energy out in a productive way. Each color has its own place on the ship, so it’s great for matching the colors. $21.99

 

Chutes and Ladders: My husband and I had this game growing up. It’s great for learning colors and counting. No reading necessary. The wooden case is a great plus in keeping our game cabinet organized.  We can’t wait to snag one while they are on sale for $12.99!

 

Mainstreet Playhouse: This is great for travel since it folds to the size of a shopping bag. We took this to our Grandmother’s assisted living facility and she loved watching our little girl run around in it. The playhouse was equally therapeutic for both of them. Anytime we pull this out, kids love creating their own little food stand or grocery store, mail room or theater. It’s on sale for $54.99.

Think-It-Through Tiles, Adv. Math and Word Power books: Teachers and home schools these are for you! This is a self-correcting puzzle system that incorporates reading, math and science skills. The entire product line begins at 4 years old and continues through 8 years or older. This is a great way to sharpen skills while having fun. Each page contains a list of questions and the tiles are used as the answer key. If all questions are answered correctly, the pattern of the tiles will match the pattern on the page. Exciting New Autism Awareness Program launches April 1!

The campaign launches in April, National Autism Awareness month.  Funds will be raised by selling official paper puzzle pieces for a $1.00 donation each.  Paper puzzle pieces will be available to the public through select campaign sponsors, including Discovery Toys Educational Consultants and Flagstar Bank, and on the Celebrities Against Autism website.  As the funds are delivered to Celebrities Against Autism, the matching number of pieces will be added to the World’s Largest Puzzle.   

The puzzle will be assembled at a yet to be disclosed location in the Detroit area.  The puzzle image has been designed to keep everyone guessing as the image is revealed.  Everyone will be able to watch the puzzle being assembled on Celebritiesagainstautism.org.  Discovery Toys is one of only four overall sponsors and the only children’s products company.  Discovery Toys is also the only sponsor with both nationwide and continent-wide reach.
